Julian Puentes

I’m a Groom Artist and Character FX Artist with over 5 years of experience in the animation and VFX industry.

I studied 3D Animation and have continuously trained through specialized workshops and mentorships, including Character FX mentorships with Alfonso Calvo (Netflix), a course with Cruz Contreras (Sony), and grooming workshops with Luis Cadavid (Framestore). My technical and artistic background allows me to develop believable and stylized grooms for characters and creatures, while supporting simulation and dynamics workflows in production environments.

I’ve worked on animated feature films and series for major studios, contributing to character grooming, cloth/hair simulations, and quality control. My recent work includes grooming for main and secondary characters in the Ice Age franchise at Bardel Entertainment, where I also supported the Character FX and QC departments.
